Dukes Bar-B-Que was founded over 45 years ago by Uncle Danny Dukes. The franchise grew and today there are 14 Duke Bar-B-Ques in South Carolina. Rauly and Jan Judy opened their first Dukes restaurant in 1992 in Allendale, SC. Rauly worked as a boilermaker and Jan worked as a hair dresser on the weekdays for the first two years until their restaurant in Allendale was sustainable. They later opened their second location in Aiken in 1996, and eventually made it their primary and only location. In 2015 they retired, their son Christian and his wife Rebecca Judy retained ownership. Christian was 4 years old when his parents opened their first restaurant and has grown up in the family business.
Where we are today
Dukes-Bar-B-Que features delicious Southern cooking and an all-you-can-eat barbeque buffet. All of our barbeque is smoked with hickory wood and cooked to perfection. At Dukes, we take great pride in offering not only great barbeque but also a variety of vegetables and sides. We feel that it is important to have a large selection so that everyone can have a healthy and nutritious meal. Most of our menu items are cooked from scratch, and everything is made fresh in order to enhance the quality of each plate served.
We pride ourselves on being able to offer not only quality barbeque, but we do our best to deliver your meal as quickly as possible.
We have returned to offering our buffet, but have added protections for our customers and staff.

BAR-B-QUE perfection takes time
We slowly smoke our pork shoulders at a low temperature to create a consistent product. Our shoulders up to 18 hours in order to be cooked to a proper temperature. We re-worked our barbecue temperatures and cook times in 2017 to create a more juicy and tender product. Our hash is a 45 year old family recipe which is very similar to the original Dukes recipe.
